(Sona)Moong dal

x = 0.5 cup/person

wash the dal just a bit not much to avoid loss of flavor. Put the X cup dal with water(around 5X) such that dal's v/v is 30% of entire mix. cover it with lid for around 10 min. Flame shud be such that water doesnt get evaporated before the dal thaws("galna"). After dal thaws add 0.25 tsp heeng & 2 pinch salt.
Preparing "foren" :
take 2 spoons ghee. When fumes begin to rise then Add 1 red mirch(broken into 2 pieces), 0.5 tsp zeera, 1-inch grated adrak. Preferably do it in that order.

Add phoren to dal. Add 1 green chili(divided into two lenth wise tht it stil remains joined at top)

Not Just A Maggie

1-medium sized onion chopped
4-inch gaarlic finely sliced

Put the above in 2 spoon white oil. when the onion turns transparent pink proceed by adding maggi(Slab broken into 4 pieces) with water(as suggested by instructions on wrapper). With Maggi & water also add half of the maggi-masala. Add the rest of masala when u feel its just about done.

U may have the above preparation with Rusk(I preffer Britania). Dip d Rusk into it & have it.
